Ron, I would like to thank you for the wonderful knife you made for me (2000).  The handle fits my hand perfectly.  This is probably the best knife I've ever owned.  I cannot say enough as to how pleased I am.  Cuts wood like it was butter.  I will be checking back with you soon to get another of your tools.

Thanks again, David Forguson

I received the two knives I ordered from Ron today (2000) and they are great!  Fits my hand perfectly and cuts wood with ease.  Carved a quick spirit face with them and I am very impressed.  Already considering buying the rest of the set!

See you, Anthony Stevens

Got here today (2000).  Looks very nice.  Only comment I could make about it, the last initial for Richard McBride seemed to be upside down, looked like a W.  Now If I can carve as good as it looks.  Like the size of the handle, gives enough there to grab, but not feel like a 2x4 in your hand.

Thanks for everything, Dick McBride

Received the second knife (2000) and gave it to my wife.  She uses it for vegtables and where a small knife would be handy, likes it very much.  Did remind her that it is not for fingers or other parts of the hand.  Thank you very much.

Dick McBride

I also have a Ron Wells knife and also the gouge...they are super.  The knife is the best that I have ever used to get rid of waste wood.  The handle is really solid and makes it so easy to make deep stop cuts and the blade stays sharp for a very long time.  Since I bought the knife last February (1999) I have only had to use my leather strop to keep the knife razor sharp.  I also use the gouge and love it just as much as the knife.  If anyone has an opportunity to purchase either or both of these they are a very good investment...I can't tell you how many knives I have bought and now they just sit around looking pretty.

I have been using Ron Wells' knives for about 3 years (1997), and it's one of the better knives in my tool kit.  They come sharp and hold an edge.  I do some teaching, and sometimes let a student use a knife if they don't have a sharp one, and they usually end up buying one.  He also makes a flat gouge out of the same knife material.  Works just as good as the knives.  Just my opinion for a good product at a fair price.

Great knives, great service.  (2000)

I do have to recommend Ron Wells’ knife.  He also makes a straight gouge which I use all the time.  (2000)

The woodcarver's museum in Custer, SD was fantastic!  Also, you might be interested to know that a testimonial from you is located in the gift shop next to the hand made knives of RW....I bought one (2000) based on the write up you gave them.....what a small world, huh?  I like the knife, by the way....nice walnut handle feels good in the hand, and cuts like crazy...did a small bear's head on some pine in about 10 minutes!  That is a sweet knife, no two ways about it.

Every time that I carve with Walt he tells me that your knife that we gave him for Christmas, "Is the best damn knife that he's ever had."  (1999)  He also has used your no. 3 gouge that I have and really liked it.  We'll probably wind up getting him one for next Christmas.  Thought you'd be pleased to know that people think you make good stuff.  You can quote me on that.

Joe Wannamaker

I realy do enjoy using your knives.  (1999)  Your knives are the only knives that I recommend to my students.  I love your knives.  I would find it hard to carve with any other knife now that I have gotten used to using yours.  Thanks again for sending the last order so quickly.

Your friend, Wayne Shinlever

The gouge I purchased a year ago (1999) is by far my favorite tool.  Also picked up two new knives this summer and love them.

Take care, Rick Stubblefield

Got the knives and they're wonderful (2000).  So glad I ordered all four of them!  Got some time to carve over the weekend and they really got used.  Thanks for making them available!  They're great knives at a reasonable price and I highly recommend them!!  You do great work.

Karen Henderson

I couldn’t do without your knives, they are the best.  (2001)

Thanks, Rick Delp

Thank you for your quick reply. About a year ago (2000) I got three of your knives, I sold all three right away, and have wanted one ever since.  This time I'm going for a dozen, maybe I can keep one for myself.  I am convinced your knives are the only good ones available these days.

I have a bunch of sad tools on my workbench.  I never use them since I got yours.  (2001)  I gave two of the chisels to good carver friends.  They just love it, as I knew they would.  It is my all time favorite tool - bar none.  You couldn't have a happier customer than I am.

Best regards, Helen Coxe

Ron makes some of the best knives and gouges out there.  I don't use knives very much, but I do have the good fortune to own a couple of his straight gouges, and they are 2 of my most used tools.  They hold a great edge!  (2001)

Ron, I can't thank you enough for the quick delivery.  I hope I didn't take you away from other business.  I tried the knife and it is excellent.  It fits my hand great and is very sharp.  (2001)

Wanted to let you know that I got a few knives from you a couple of months ago, and am quite happy with them.  (2002)  I carved last week with Harley Refsal at Fletcher Farms in Vermont, and especially like them for the flat plane carving.

Ed Ertel

Ron, I have ordered a detail knife and gouge and have enjoyed both.  I would now like to order one each of the long and short blade knives.  I had thought with all of those praising reviews about your knives that maybe your mom had written a few...after owning two, I can echo those praises. Keep up the good work!  (2002)

Doug Mann

As for your knives...I'd like everyone to know there's just no other in my toolbox.  I've tried many others that fellow carvers have handed me and said, "Try this beauty."  I always say, "It sure is purdy, but no thank you." None do the job so beautifully as yours, Ron. Oh yeah, I love the razor sharp gouge for relief carving I am just starting to do. Like the knives, it holds its edge like the energizer bunny!  (2002)

Jan Vail

Ron Wells Knives.  Own about 4 and they are excellent. Compared to some of the overpriced, fancy names being sold, you cannot beat his knives for cost and good solid value. If you are in the market for a knife, be sure and check his site first and last.  I have no commercial or personal relationship with Ron. I only know him thru the pictures of his carvings and his knives.  (2002)
